• Seeing how much easier it feels to train consistently at 60 km/week (37 mpw) πŸƒ compared to a few months ago, I feel confident enough to start training for a marathon on November 28. My main goals are β‘  not getting injured during prep, and β‘‘ finish within 5 hours, the cutoff.

  • Today I’m fully vaccinated against COVID-19. I need to remain careful, but at least I’ve reduced the risk of being hospitalized or die. Still, I’m experiencing a great feeling of gratitude towards all scientists who made this possible and joy from hope for the future. πŸ’‰

  • On the Straight and Narrow πŸƒ (and so 🐌 ssllloooowww). It certainly isn’t Strava-worthy (read: show-offish).

  • Solar powered 🐱

  • Back of the envelope calculation. A €200 Kobo ereader and 3 years of Kobo plus subscription (€10/mo), would cost me roughly €200 per year, or 20 average ebooks. That’s too much of a commitment for someone who has read perhaps 1 book per year in their life, probably less 😬 FAIL!

  • This time not a run-walk-run, but a genuine long slow distance run of almost half marathon length. The last few kms felt really hard. πŸƒ

  • Play, paw, purr 🐱

  • A πŸƒπŸšΆπŸƒ of 17 km. I was quite stiff in my hip muscles afterwards, so I did some extra exercises to loosen those. Again, a wonderful run in a beautiful environment, although the latter is in the eye of the beholder and the former mostly in my experience.

  • This morning’s πŸƒ in photos instead of stats.

  • Some neighborhoods are really into recycling, even to a fault ♻️

  • Listened to Ep. 1: Prewriting β€” Nonfiction Podcast by University of Victoria Writing faculty members David Leach and Deborah Campbell. Enjoined it and learned something. πŸŽ™πŸ‘‚

  • It seems Duolingo is the β€œFacebook of language apps.” Yes, you can use it without monetary exchange, but you’re paying nonetheless, with ads and translations to and from your native language. Deleted the app.

  • I started using Duolingo. I’m not sure if I can keep up, since it’s rather intense with 5 min/day. Also, no account, no notifications. I do not want those! I’m supposed to do it daily, but I’ll start with one day per week, and see if I even like that level of intense learning.

  • I’ve given up on my local Dutch library and lending πŸ“š online. It’s just too depressing. The only adults promoting online lending are those working for local libraries, not book readers. That says it all, I guess. Unless you’re under 18, it’s too limited, too expensive.

  • πŸƒ 19 km run-walk-run in 2ΒΌ hours. That long straight cobblestone road was mind numbing, but I did it! Stretching afterwards felt better than usual, because that’s what cobblestone does to a runner.

  • So many hurdles for reading e-πŸ“š through my local library. After buying a €160 e-reader (not Kindle, nor Sony), I still need to β‘  pay a yearly subscription β‘‘ buy a Windows PC or Mac β‘’ install Adobe Digital Editions. This is for people with time and money to waste πŸ˜’

  • I find it difficult to switch between sketching, drawing and mosaic art (pixel art). They all ask for totally different mindsets.

  • Removed around 30 l of trash heap left behind by previous renters. I already removed 500 l of trash from the backyard more than a year ago. I guess they were too lazy to put the container at the curb. More likely, neighbors used the garden as a trash heap when no one lived here.

  • οΏΌListening to this week’s atp.fm πŸŽ™a whopping 2 hours 22 minutes 9 seconds ⏳

  • Two months ago I needed two full days to recover from my πŸ’‰ Now barely a full day, though I felt more tired after my πŸƒ than I usually do.
